At Encore we approach our impact on the environment with realism and responsibility. We aim to communicate with integrity on all Environmental matters and take real care to curb the environmental effects of our business.
Through paper and board size optimisation, waste is kept to an absolute minimum and 100% of any waste that is generated is recycled. We adopt the waste hierarchy principle and our waste reduction efforts starts with purchasing of our materials.
To further limit our impact on the environment, we only use water-based inks and glues, which have a much lesser impact on the environment than solvents.
Our energy strategy is dedicated to taking advantage of cost-effective energy management and efficiency opportunities – the Group has a dedicated team of knowledgeable engineers working to ensure all our plants and the machinery we utilise operate efficiently and with the latest technology.
In order to maintain our hygiene and environment standards as we expand into food packaging, we have a dedicated Group Quality and Environment Manager whose primary responsibility is to guide the Company towards achieving the BRC Standard for Packaging.
We are already proud to be accredited with FSC & PEFC, along with ISO 14001
We continue to strive to supply our products in the most sustainable way possible and we are constantly exploring new options and ideas that will keep us ahead of our competitors and future legislation but most importantly – reduce our environmental impact.
