2018 at Encore
With 2019 fast approaching, it’s great to look back on yet another successful year at Encore.
We have had a particularly fantastic 12 months and we’d love to share our highlights with you.
After being audited by BRC Global Standards at the beginning of the year, we were pleased to be awarded the highest grade, AA. This was not only a great achievement, but also meant that we could now produce packaging for direct food contact, widening our market into the food and drink sector.
In February, we announced that we were continuing to support the North of England Children’s Cancer Research (NECCR) after a successful 2017, when we raised £5,000 for the charity. We are delighted that this year we have doubled our fundraising total and have donated £10,000 to the charity; we will keep supporting its great work in 2019.
Our expansion into Yorkshire, after the acquisition of Great Northern Envelopes, was a particular highlight of the year for the team. The process saved Great Northern Envelopes from administration and safeguarded a significant number of jobs! Later in 2018, we moved the operation in Leeds to a new, 25,000 square foot site in Dewsbury, futureproofing the company’s growth and enabling us to continue to thrive.
As a partner of the Two Sides Project, we have been promoting key messages around the sustainable nature of paper, debunking misconceptions surrounding paper waste and in turn, reducing our impact on the environment. This is something we are proud to be involved with.
In 2018 we also welcomed five new members to our team; Technical Design and Studio Manager, Chris Reilly, Pre-press and CAD Operator, Daniel Moloney, Internal Sales Account Manager, Angela Betts, new client services team member, Gosia Grochowina and Lewis McPhillips, Senior Account Manager.
We certainly don’t plan for 2019 to be any less exciting and we hope you’ll be on the journey with us!
