World Post Day 2018

World Post Day happens every year on 9th October, the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which started in 1874 in Switzerland. The UPU was the very start of the global communications revolution, changing the way the world communicated by creating the ability to write to people across the globe.

Many things happen on the day to celebrate the importance of the postal service, with some post offices releasing special stamp collections, hosting open days and even running letter writing competitions for young people.
