Encore achieves AA grade following BRC audit
We’re pleased to announce that Encore Packaging has been awarded the BRC Global Standard’s highest grade, AA, following an extensive audit process.
The BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials, which is the first packaging standard in the world to be recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GSFI) benchmarking committee, has been designed to assist in the production of safe packaging materials as well as managing product quality to meet customers’ requirements.
From the 19th-20th of December, we underwent a two-day audit, on a mission to be recognised in the ‘high hygiene’ category of the BRC Global Standards for Packaging and Packaging Materials. We hoped to work our way up to a AA certification (in a grading system of DD, CC, BB, AA) over the coming three to five years, which would be ultimately achieved through unannounced future audits. However, we’re thrilled to announce that we have already reached the highest standard, with an AA grade.
For Encore, this certification is not only a great achievement we can be proud of, it’s also practical, as it grants us the Packaging Standard required to produce packaging for direct food contact, and in turn, widens our potential market by allowing us to move into the food sector.
We cannot say thank you enough to the amazing team at Encore Packaging for their help and input. We couldn’t have achieved this accreditation without the group effort and we’re excited to see what 2018 holds for the Company.
